Visual Novels
I used to recommend visual novels over watching anime or reading yuri manga. But the scene has changed quite a bit nowadays. However, visual novels are still very good by virtue of having to be a complete work before it's published. Which tends to result in slightly better writing.
Technically, if you wanted a full list of yuri VNs, you could just look at this. But I suppose you’re still looking at this website because... Well, are you a fan of my commentary?

They enlist Yuna to help them create more 'yuri' couples at school so they can glean some sexual insight from observing them. This game is rather interesting with a calendar mechanic. There's a lot of couples, most are a miss for me. Some are hits. Overall I didn't find it that hard pounding but I'd say it's a good 3/5 on that scale. Sex scenes are eh. Didn’t like them that much. I like Yuna, but I don’t like her coupling. Maki is based though. |

She tries to make friends and solves mysteries in the school. This is a beautiful novel. There are choices and two girls (Rikka or Mayuri) you can get together with. Mayuri is the true ending however. I never really liked or was into the mysteries in the entire FLOWERS series, but they’re alright I guess. The final mystery got me pretty upset and screaming at my monitor because the rest of the series hadn’t been translated yet (this was in 2017). I fucking love Mayuri, her voice is HNGGGGGGG |

I was so happy that Erika is the protagonist for this one, she was so much fun in the first FLOWERS after all. A new student, Chidori, transfers into the academy and Erika finds herself forced to pair up with her. Their friendship at the start is rough but they slowly get closer to one another. Much dokis to be had with this one. And uh... the other option for Erika to romance is... Sister Dahlia... Ew... |

I ended up dropping this one halfway because I got bored and I wasn’t into Yuzuriha as a protagonist. I’m still kicking myself to get myself to finish it. The other option to romance is one of the twins. I have no idea what’s up with FLOWERS and giving you the absolute worst second romance option. I haven’t played the last FLOWERS game yet so it’s not here in this list. That one has Shirahane back as the protagonist. |

It also contains couples from the previous series. Sex was OK. I do recommend this one a read 100% What they did to Nanami’s voice is a crime. I miss her OG voice actress. |

I really liked what an asshole Manami actually was. It was pretty funny. It’s also pretty funny watching Hazuki make slightly masochistic remarks here and there. I actually enjoyed their dynamic a lot and the stupid MANA drama. It made me smile, but then in the second half the writing goes to absolute shit and the artist of this VN has some... interesting anatomy choices. Did not enjoy the sex scenes at all. |

Shudder. Follows a girl named Iris that finds out that she has a younger sister transferring to her school and living with her. There's only 1 route and there are 2 endings. As for the story itself, it was very cute, yes. Although it focused more on how taboo incest is/can be. I like the protagonist very much. The interactions between Iris and Zoey were very light hearted, cute and funny. Ending was eh I guess. |

Tags: Length: An hour? I can't remember A very nice short free yuri VN with no choices and only one route. It follows a delinquent girl getting along with a cute prim and proper girl. It is REALLY CUTE and I wish it was a little longer... But it was very satisfactory. If you need something short and fluffy, I recommend playing through this. Good stuff. The background art is... I'm not even sure if they can be considered art. The music is mediocre at best. But the characters are still cute and so are the far and inbetween CGs. |

Every participant in the game is already dead, and they are playing to get their deaths reversed. It's not a gory game (except maybe one CG, be warned), unlike Dangan Ronpa or Your Turn to Die. There is replay value to the game. Some dialogue changes on a second read and there’s a whole new scene at the start in new game plus. There are multiple choices/endings and there is only one love interest. The localisation of the game is pretty bad honestly. I have never seen ‘rub a dub dub thanks for the grub’ used unironically in 2023 but here we are. Yuri is not the focus of this one, but it is definitely gay. Sparse kicking and squealing in my seat, 2/5 at best. Halfway through it I actually switched focus and was only reading for the muscle mommy. I love her. Chaos incarnate. |

There wasn’t any chemistry between the two leads and the MC spends more time gushing about her husbandos than her gf that LIVES WITH HER. I started shipping the gf with her best friend pretty early into the novel wtf. Not my cup of tea. Not to mention that the description of the game doesn’t fit what I was seeing at all. |

It’s fantasy, but I got more supernatural vibes from it somehow. |

They don’t seem to act naturally. I'll finish reading this someday. |
